Spero

Spero means “hope” in Romanian—and no name could better suit this phenomenal male dog! He came to us from Romania after a terrible car accident in which he was seriously injured and lost his hind legs; today, he requires extensive medical care with a suprapubic catheter. However, anyone expecting a sad dog doesn’t know Spero: this feisty senior is the pure definition of joie de vivre and doesn’t let anyone in the pack push him around. When he zooms across the yard in his wheelchair, he’s often the absolute fastest one out there, showing us every single day that true strength lies in the heart.
