Hiswa’s name is inextricably linked with a great love story at the sanctuary: He arrived from Romania with his beloved Polda, who guarded him like the apple of her eye until her passing in October 2024. This one-eyed, gentle giant bears the loss of his companion with admirable, quiet dignity. Hiswa is a true hero with a huge heart – in September 2021, he even bravely donated blood to save another dog’s life! Health-wise, he suffers from chronic rhinitis, which requires close care and regular treatments. Our grandpa loves his routine and his dog group. Usually, a single glance from his remaining eye is enough to win anyone over immediately.
