After a true odyssey through various families and boarding houses, where he was almost euthanized due to behavioral issues in confined spaces, Fabio found his safe haven at Hun’nenhoff in October 2017. Here, he shows a completely different side: he is neither aggressive indoors nor outdoors, but has developed into a true heart-dog. Because he panics during medical treatments and is afraid of unfamiliar men, he is allowed to stay with us forever. Additionally, Fabio must cope with the chronic autoimmune disease lupus, which requires lifelong medication and close monitoring. At the sanctuary, he has found his permanent place alongside his buddy Hans – for us, the most beautiful proof that many so-called “monsters” simply need to find peace under the right conditions.
